What is Brand Photography?

There’s a lot of confusion and misconceptions going on around brand photography. It is, after all, a relatively new niche, but it’s one that a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners are finding invaluable in growing their business.

I’d like to use this blog post to explain what brand photography is, and how it can help you, regardless of whether you’re a new start-up, or an established enterprise.

Brand photography is a way for you to stand out online, tailor your message and attract the right people to your business.

It helps you to nurture your ideal clients, sustain your brand, and conserve your time.

A carefully curated collection of custom brand images can help you build your know, like and trust factor with your ideal clients.

They will be drawn to the pictures you share alongside your informative and inspiring social media posts and blog articles.

They’ll be the ones who aspire to live the lifestyle that you can help them create with your product or service. They’ll be the ones who stop scrolling because they see that you’ve shared something new, fun, or useful.

By letting them see your engaging face, your smiling eyes, and giving them a glimpse behind the scenes, they will come to feel like they know you.

Start planting those seeds now. Even if your followers don’t need your service immediately, when it comes to it, given the choice between you and someone else, they’ll always come to you because you’ve already nourished them and built that trust and that relationship.

Brand photography helps you to sustain your brand

Over time, people will come to recognise your vibe and your brand colours, so ideally you need to have a bank of images that feature them.

You’ve made the effort to ensure that your clothes, your props and your locations all match and complement your brand. It gives it a polished and professional look, and shows that you’ve taken the time to think everything through carefully.

Why go to all that trouble and then let it sit there, when you could be promoting it all over the place to the very people who need what you have?

They don’t need to be full-on, in-your-face items, or vast swathes of colour. Something as simple as a pen, a necklace or a scarf in your brand colours can emphasise and reinforce that subtle drip as you show up every day to extol the benefits of what you offer.

Speaking of showing up every day…

Brand photography frees up your time so that you can focus on the important things in your business and in your life.

You won’t have to spend ages hunting for a cliched stock photograph, or worry about your hair or clothes not being en-pointe when you urgently need to take a selfie to accompany your latest social media post. Just think about how much time that would save you every week!

Even better, how much time would it save now that you can prepare and schedule your social media posts in advance?

You’ll already have a library of images ready and waiting on your computer for you to use anywhere and everywhere you need to.

But brand photography is more than that.

It helps you to gain confidence in your service, your message and in yourself.

By investing in professional photography, it sends out the message that you’re comfortable investing in yourself, which in turn gives people the confidence to invest in you.

Because you now have a collection of custom, unique images that showcase your products, your services and yourself all looking at their best, why wouldn’t you want to show them off?

I know: you hate being on camera, you hate sharing pictures of yourself. So do I. I’ve had to overcome my own insecurities about how I think I look and get myself out there.

If a quiet, shy, reclusive introvert like me can do it, so can you! I know what it’s like, and I want to help you get past your own blocks about getting in front of a camera, so that you can move yourself and your business forward.
